Victory is ours to those who will truly deny themselves—that will walk up that hill following Jesus, declaring: “I do not own this day or this life. I give it entirely to God, and I am here to cultivate goodness and purity.“
JESUS AT MY SIDE
CHRISTIANITY’S GREATEST BLESSING — AND ITS GREATEST CANCER
Christianity carries the greatest message ever given to humanity: the call to love God, deny ourselves, and devote our lives to goodness and purity through Jesus Christ.
Yet within Christianity lies a terrible contradiction.
We have learned to include Jesus in our lives without surrendering our lives to Him.
THE CANCER JESUS CONFRONTED
When Jesus came, the Jewish religious world already had magnificent temples, sacred clothing, festivals, music, prayers, ceremonies, and traditions honoring God.
Yet Jesus confronted religious leaders who honored God with their lips while their hearts were far from Him. They observed religious requirements while neglecting justice, mercy, and faithfulness. They maintained the outward appearance of devotion while missing its essential purpose.
Jesus was calling for something deeper than religious observance.
He was calling for the surrender and transformation of the human life.
He called us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him.
But look at what Christianity has become across much of the world.

THE CHRISTIANITY WE HAVE NORMALIZED
We have a Christianity in which drugs and alcohol are accepted parts of life. Sex before marriage is widely practiced. Sexual gratification is pursued according to personal preference.
Worry and anxiety are treated as unavoidable possessions, although we do not own our lives or our worries. Walking with Jesus means surrendering them to God.
We have a Christianity that accommodates war, military power, weapons, and violence. We watch horror movies, consume entertainment built around killers and brutality, and encounter pornography as a mainstream feature of the very culture in which we profess faith in Christ.
We pursue stimulation, possessions, pleasure, and gratification. We dress and present ourselves according to prevailing cultural standards, often disregarding the call to purity. If we call ourselves Christians, why do we dress in ways we would never choose to present ourselves before God? Why do we walk into the world wearing clothing laden with sexual messages? The answer is heartbreaking: we have lost our way to goodness and purity. Imagine a world in which women at every turn dress with honor before God, and men and women alike carry themselves with dignity, modesty, and purity.
We ask God for help when we need Him. But are we willing to give Him our lives?
These practices are not universal among Christians. The brutal truth is that they have nevertheless become normalized throughout much of the Christian world.
We have made Christianity fit the life we want instead of allowing Jesus to transform the life we live.

CHRISTIANITY’S GREATEST CANCER
The religious world Jesus confronted could possess temples, ceremonies, sacred clothing, festivals, and public devotion while missing the heart of God’s call.
Christianity has spread across billions of people. Its institutions and traditions have grown into an enormous global civilization.
If we are brutally honest, have we mastered the very thing Jesus confronted in the religious order of His own time? He exposed the tragedy of outward devotion without inward surrender. Religious authorities opposed Him, and He was crucified.
Can we see the heartbreaking possibility that Christianity, in its very expansion, has repeated the failure Jesus came to expose?
We have carried His name across the world. But have we missed the most essential thing He came to teach us: to deny ourselves, surrender our ownership, and give our lives entirely to God?
This is not said to condemn Christians. It is said because we love Jesus, because His call matters, and because it is never too late to answer it with our whole hearts.
We bring our prayers, our worship, our churches, our traditions, and our declarations of faith.
But do we bring ourselves?
Do we surrender our appetites, our gratification, our worry, our fear, and our insistence on controlling our own lives?
Or do we preserve our ownership while claiming to follow Jesus?
This is Christianity’s greatest cancer: professing to follow Jesus while refusing the surrender He demands.

CAN WE SEE THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES?
From cradle to grave, screens increasingly immerse us in violence, horror, pornography, and endless stimulation. Technology amplifies our appetites. Consumerism and competition encourage us to want more without end.
Christianity has not stood apart from this culture. It has largely lived within it.
This course leads to a crash. We are already living in its consequences.
Can we recognize the contradiction between the life we have normalized and the life Jesus called us to live?

WHO WILL RISE?
This is not an invitation to shame ourselves. It is an invitation to tell the truth and change.
Jesus did not call us merely to admire Him, worship Him, or include Him in our chosen lifestyles.
He called us to follow Him.
I DO NOT OWN THIS DAY OR THIS LIFE. I GIVE IT ENTIRELY TO GOD. I AM HERE TO CULTIVATE GOODNESS AND PURITY.
I am not the boss. God is.
The question is simple:
Will we continue to own our lives—or will we finally give them to God?

THE CALL IS NOW. VICTORY IS OURS.
